Another home just went on the Foreclosure list in our Oregon City neighborhood.
The neighbor simply left, leaving a 3500 sq ft. home sitting empty. It's good in the sense that they had to take their barking dog with them, but bad in the sense that now my house is worth that much less.
Being a Realtor, I see the slow decline of ALL of our homes slipping downward. I can't say for the rest of the neighbors but I know currently, we owe much much more that the home is worth. But, with the foreclosures popping up like wild flowers, it's making paying the mortgage that much more painful.
But, I'm a fighter. I've never been one to give up. So, where does that leave us? If you owe more than your home is worth, do you do what our neighbor did and walk away? Or do you stick it out and look pass the horizon?
Me, personally, I feel we need to stand some ground. If not, the housing market will only get worse.
It's like going to war and your platoon starts feeling like we're out numbered. There's going to be a few that run, but, for me, I'm staying and fighting.
